Bihu- The Chief Assamese Festival

Bihu the chief festival of Assam state of India. It refers to a set of three different festivals: Rongali or Bohag Bihu, Kongali or Kati Bihu, and Bhogali or Magh Bihu. The Rongali Bihu is the most important of the three, which is observed in the middle of April celebrating the Assamese new year and the spring festival. 

The term Bihu also implies Bihu Naas (Dance) and Bihu folk songs also called Bihu Geet.
